What is Chestny ZNAK (Honest Sign)?
Chestny ZNAK (Честный ЗНАК) is Russia‘s mandatory product tracking system. It requires a special Data Matrix code on many products sold in Russia.
Products that need this code:
Tobacco, medicine, shoes
Clothing, tires, perfume
Dairy, bottled water, beer
Electronics – smartphones, laptops, tablets, lights, circuit boards (starting March 2026)

How Chestny ZNAK Works (Simple Version)

Chestny ZNAK uses small Data Matrix codes – not regular barcodes.
