An exposed scanner module may leave the camera, illumination components and internal structure directly behind the equipment opening. Dust, cleaning liquid and an unsuitable panel cutout can affect long-term scanning performance.

The XT206M3 combines the scanning unit with an acrylic front window, providing a finished scanning surface for embedded installation.

Why Use an Acrylic Window?

The window separates the scanner components from the external operating area. It also simplifies the equipment panel because the integrator does not need to add a separate transparent cover in front of the module.

This design is suitable for kiosks, vending machines, lockers and other self-service equipment that requires regular surface cleaning.

Installation Considerations

The XT206M3 should be installed with enough space between the scanner and the barcode presentation area. Strong reflections from surrounding lights or glossy surfaces should be avoided.

The panel opening should not block the camera, illumination or aiming area. If another protective panel is installed in front of the XT206M3, its angle and light transmission may affect scanning.

The XT206M3 supports embedded installation with screw-mounting holes and an enclosed acrylic front window. USB, TTL and RS232 versions are available for different host systems.

The acrylic window protects the internal scanning area from direct exposure, but it does not mean the complete device has a waterproof or IP rating.
