A scanner installed on a production line may be several meters away from the control computer. USB is not always suitable for this layout. TCP/IP allows barcode data to be sent through the factory network to a PC, PLC, MES or database system.

The XTIOT XT8601B is a fixed-mount barcode reader with TCP/IP and RS-232 communication. It uses a 3072 x 2048 image sensor and supports 1D and 2D code reading.

It can be used to read:

• Data Matrix codes on PCBA

• DPM codes on metal parts

• QR codes on production labels

• Codes on steel coils and component trays

A sensor or PLC can trigger the scanner when the product reaches the reading position. After decoding, the XT8601B sends the result to the host system for verification, traceability or production record storage.

The scanner uses a 24V DC power supply and has an IP67 housing for fixed installation in factory environments.

Actual reading performance depends on the code size, surface, contrast, working distance and lighting. Testing with the real part is recommended before production-line installation.
