Barcode Scanner Manufacturer with development & Invention ability
Meta description: Choose a barcode scanner module for long QR code data by checking image resolution, code size, reading distance and data interface.
A scanner that supports QR Code may still struggle with a QR code containing a large amount of data.
More data makes the QR cells smaller and more closely packed. The scanner needs enough image detail to separate these cells correctly.
For long or dense QR codes, XTIOT normally recommends a 1280 x 800 scanner module such as the XT206H1 instead of selecting a model only because it lists QR Code in its supported barcode types.
The actual QR code should be tested before the model is confirmed. Its physical size and required reading distance affect the lens selection and reading result. Making the same data fit into a smaller printed area makes the code harder to read.
The output interface is also important. USB HID sends the decoded data as keyboard input. A long result may take more time to output, and the host may receive missing characters if the input speed or software handling is unsuitable.
USB CDC or UART allows the software to receive the result through a communication port. For fixed OEM equipment, XTIOT engineers normally recommend hardware UART when the host supports it. USB CDC is another option when the host needs to connect through USB.
For a long-data QR code, check three things before ordering:
Image resolution: 1280 x 800 is preferred for dense codes.
Actual reading conditions: Test the real code at the required size and distance.
Data interface: Use UART or USB CDC when long output data must be received by software.
The XTIOT XT206H1 supports high-resolution QR code reading and is available with USB CDC, TTL UART and RS232 interfaces for different OEM systems.
