Barcode Scanner Manufacturer with development & Invention ability
An XTIOT barcode scanner module can connect to Raspberry Pi through TTL UART. This connection is useful when the customer wants to install the scanner directly inside a kiosk, vending machine or other OEM device.
The scanner sends barcode data through TX and receives commands through RX.
| XTIOT Scanner | Raspberry Pi |
|---|---|
| Scanner TX | Raspberry Pi RX |
| Scanner RX | Raspberry Pi TX |
| GND | GND |
| Power | Suitable power supply |
TX and RX must connect in opposite directions. The scanner TX connects to the Raspberry Pi RX, and the scanner RX connects to the Raspberry Pi TX.
If Raspberry Pi only needs to receive barcode data, the scanner TX connection is enough. The scanner RX can remain disconnected.
Both wires are needed when the software must send commands to the scanner. XTIOT serial commands can be used to trigger scanning, change the scanning mode, enable or disable barcode types, and set prefixes or suffixes.
XTIOT models such as the XT206M1 and XT206H1 can use 5V power while their TTL UART signals use 3.3V logic.
The 5V connection powers the scanner. The 3.3V TX and RX wires carry data. The power wire must not be connected to a Raspberry Pi signal pin.
The default baud rate of XTIOT scanner modules is 9600. Other baud rates can be set, but the scanner and Raspberry Pi must use the same value.
Separate wires can be used during the first test. For mass production, the customer does not need to connect every wire by hand.
XTIOT can provide the scanner pin information for a custom cable. The scanner side uses a JST connector, while the other side can connect to the customer’s adapter board or mainboard through one complete plug.
The XT206M1 measures 40 x 20 x 11 mm and is suitable for compact OEM devices.
The XT206H1 uses a 1280 x 800 image sensor and is more suitable for small, dense or mobile screen QR codes.
Both models support TTL UART and serial command control. No SDK is required for normal integration. XTIOT provides the communication protocol and command information.
